mmm mmm Lunchables

Keeping in the spirit of  back to school, I've decided to talk about lunches. What do you like to pack your precious little's lunchbox with? Do you go healthy, organic, clean? Or do you tend to sway the other direction?

I tend to stay with easy. The easier the better!!! My kids absolutely LOVE Lunchable's! Who ever thought of this idea was a genius, right?! My middle son would eat a Lunchable for breakfast, lunch and dinner, if I left him, and I may have let him once or twice...shhhh!

What I like about the Lunchable.

   1. Convenient :  I mean seriously, it doesn't get any easier, all you have to do is head to your favorite grocery store, wamart, target, heck they are even selling them in local gas stations. Grab your childs favorite flavor. Pizza (pepperoni, no pepperoni), ham and cheese, turkey and cheese, hot dog, cheeseburger etc...

   2. Easy: You don't even have to pack another thing. Just stick the box in the lunchbox and go. It has everything, main meal, drink and desert. BAM!!

   3. Price: Reasonably priced. If you can grab it on sale or even with a coupon, it's cheaper then school lunch and I'm sure the kids like it better than nasty school lunches. I just grabbed 2 for $5 at my local store and at check out a Catalina coupon printed for $1.50 for 5. (which I will be cashing in on).

What I don't like about the Lunchable:

    1. Desert variety: The fact that if you want the ham and cheese you have to have a peanut butter cup. This poses a problem with children with peanut allergies, like my youngest. Ham and cheese is a very common lunch for kids, so my son would love to get the ham and cheese, but  he is allergic to peanut butter cups, he either chooses another Lunchable or I buy the ham and cheese and then go buy a bag of miniature candy bars and have to swap out the candy. This my friends is a problem!!

I mean come on kraft foods, lets get with the "peanut allergy" program!

In conclusion, I do recommend Lunchables for your little, but not the ham and cheese if your little is allergic to peanut butter

And I'm Off

Andddd.....I'm off and running with my dream of blogging!!! WOOHOO!!

As I lay there in bed last night, listening to the sound of a motorcycle in my bedroom, oh wait that was just my husband snoring away, not a care in the world, meanwhile I am having a full out right panic attack! I began talking to myself, I said "self, now that I have moved forward with this blog, what will my first review be on"? I mean there are a TON of products that I could review right? This should be a piece of cake! Yeah right a piece of melting ice cream cake. My mind raced and then it hit me! It's time for the kids to go back to school, I should review a product that might help fellow mothers when deciding on a backpack!

Now, I have 4 kids and 2 step kids. I've bought my fair share of backpacks. My oldest son is 21 and my youngest is 6 so if I do the math correctly.....awww who am I kidding, I'm not going to do the math, I hate math! But I think you get the point. Lots O bags!

When I was a kid Jansport backpacks was the schniz! They were beautiful, different colors, designs, cool pockets (I had to have somewhere to put my unicorn trapper keeper, right?) and they came with a lifetime warranty. Did anyone really cash in on that?? I mean every year mine tore and I had to get another the following year. I drove my mom crazy year after year trying to decide on which one I wanted.
Don't mind the little bit of puppy hair (we have a Siberian husky)

Well I have finally found a backpack that can withstand the abuse of a preteen boy! I know you're thinking "get on with it already", so I'm going to get to the point.

Adidas makes (in my opinion) the BEST backpacks!!  The first one I bought was in fact 4 years ago. It was an Adidas Loadspring. It was black with a cool yellow neon trim... just perfect for a boy full of life. It has padded straps, it has multiple pockets.

The inside of this thing is HUGE! He managed to cram all of his books, pokemon cards, soccer ball and beef jerky  into this thing. There is a pocket for a cell phone and a laptop pocket, neither of which he had at the time.

After the first year with that bag, I decided that it looked too new to go buy another (the boy wasn't happy, but the wallet was). Even now it's still in pretty good shape and he uses it to go on overnights.
The yellow neon did fade a little and my only gripe about this bag is, it needs to have the waste and chest straps. Sometimes it would fall down his shoulders.

Now on to the next 2 years. That following year we went and got yet another Adidas backpack. This one is the UltraRide. It is even bigger then the last. It's black with some cool orange flair to it, along with a pretty blue lining. This thing has many pockets including a cell phone pocket, tablet pocket and laptop pocket, and a pocket for your head set (I mean how many devices does a kid need to have on them in a day??) This thing looks brand new (other than a little dirt).  Again my only gripe I have is, I wish it had at least a chest strap.

Both backpacks were around the $60 mark and I bought them both at Kohls.

He used both bags for 2 years each and I believe he will go a 3rd with the UltraRide. So, on behalf of my wallet and sanity, I'd like to say "Thank You Adidas!"

Drum roll please!

I DID IT!! I finally did it!!  What you ask? Well, today is the day that I finally started my product review blog!! I have been dreaming about this blog for years!! I was just too nervous to take the plunge. I'm new to blogging so, I'm sure there will be some mistakes along the way, please bare with me and I apologize in advance.

Let me start out by introducing my self: My name is Shannon. I live a very busy life (just like you). I have 4 children their ages range from 6 to 21. 21???!!! Did I just say that? UGH I'm getting old!! I have also been blessed with a grand-daughter this year. She is beautiful and amazing! I love watching her learn and grow. The best part about being a grammy is..... being able to hand her back. Along with my 4, I also have 2 step-daughters. We are the modern blended family. It definitely poses some challenges, but as a family we will get by.

I was recently let go at my place of employment (a very difficult cup of tea to swallow). So, since I have been home trying out the stay at home mom card (which is very difficult and I give props to all of you stay at home moms!!! YOU ROCK!!!) I decided it's now or never with the blog of my dreams!

I will be focusing mostly on product reviews however, I have a lot of hobbies and A LOT to say so I'll be blogging about general things as well.

I really hope you enjoy my blog and let me know how I'm doing in the comments. I look forward to making some new friends! I am super excited to get started and review some GREAT and not so great products for you!!
